It’s no secret that automakers have spent the last several years finding creative ways to synchronize as many gadgets and accessories as possible into their vehicles. It is amazing to see how far this integration of technology and convenience has come when you take a look at the Ford SYNC System. Ford has turned their focus towards the new breed of always connected, tech-savvy and fashion forward drivers who are looking for more than just airbags and cruise control to enhance their driving experience.

The Ford SYNC System is an intuitive way to harness the connectivity of hands-free communication, provide uninterrupted access to prominent entertainment applications like Pandora Internet Radio, integrate navigation and instant connection to emergency services to create a driving experience that is safe, entertaining and informative.

In reviewing the long and impressive list of features of the Ford SYNC System, it is easy to see how it is becoming an in-car service that drivers can’t live without. The list is long, so here are just a few of our favorites:

Voice activation and speech recognition.

Hands free calling, and audible text messaging.

Turn-by-turn navigation with integrated 411 business listing search.

The ability to search Google and Mapquest and download map results to SYNC.

911 assist to contact emergency services for you when you aren’t able.

The ability to use the Ford SYNC System to transform your transportation into a Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot for all of your Wi-Fi ready devices.

A health report for your vehicle with focus on your driving habits and service needs.

Steering wheel mounted controls for finger-tip management of the Ford SYNC system.

Control of all your media with built in access to one or more USB ports, an SD Card slot, RCA and Auxiliary jacks.

Compatibility with smart-phones from major phone manufacturers like Apple, HTC, LG, Motorola and other brands.

With the integration of the Ford SYNC System, and comparable in-car systems from other brands, it is easier than ever to stay plugged-in during your drive while also making your drive safer and more entertaining for you and your passengers. The next time you find yourself lost on the open road, speak up! You just might be surprised at how your vehicle responds.

If you see a Ford F150 without 5000 pounds being towed or at least 1000 pounds in the bed, then you can be pretty sure that the super car is wasted and the purpose defeated. The truck which traces its lineage to the 1950’s and has abilities that trucks made by other manufacturers cannot claim is indeed meant for a purpose and that is certainly not to pick groceries from the mall. The point here is that the Ford F150 which has been named the Motor Trend Truck of the Year for 2012 boasts of superior performance with fuel efficiency which might strike you as surprising considering the fuel guzzlers that this family of vehicles are. But, the big marketing push that Ford has intended with the Ford F150 is centered on fuel efficiency and that is achieved through the EcoBoost. The emission per mile is quite healthy at 1.06 lb/mi.

Without going into the feature by feature comparison with other models, it would suffice to state that the Ford F150 scores on most categories including the price that is quite attractive for a truck that delivers on payload as well as its power. The thrust that one gets from the truck is something that ought to be felt rather than described and believe me; the smooth transmission belies the amazing horsepower that the Ford F150 has. Coupled with the faster acceleration and the pickup, the truck is indeed a delight for those who need it for towing capabilities that are really good in this model. To cite figures, the 11,300 lb capacity for the Platinum EcoBoost SuperCrew model and the 9400 lb capacity for the XLT SuperCab 4WD are indeed impressive.

Needless to say the truck is elegant and stylish for its class and Ford has indeed worked hard on the interiors that are comfortable. The ergonomics have been taken care of in a well designed manner which gives you the benefit of a cool drive with power. The Ford F150 seats three and has a fold up bottom seats which give you a huge amount of storage space within the SuperCrew. You have a truck that works best when challenged and something that is built to perform and that is certainly an understatement. It is certainly a better pickup and indeed, the Ford F150 is meant for all seasons and you should buy it for all the reasons.

The Ford F-150 has been the top selling truck in America for over three decades. Even after more than 30 years as a leader in the pickup truck market, the latest F-150s are better than ever, if that is possible. The F-150 was recently awarded Motor Trend Magazine’s 2012 Truck Of The Year, and Ford doesn’t appear to be trying to relinquish that title anytime soon.

As well as being Motor Trend’s Truck Of The Year and the number one selling truck in America, Ford’s F-150 is arguably the best winter vehicle in the world. Much of this could be attributed to Ford’s infamously tough construction and seemingly indestructible rear-ends, which have been a staple of their trucks for eons. But believe it or not, Ford was able to improve some features on their renowned F-150 line.

The new F-150 boast stronger powetrains like a 3.7-liter V6 engine with 302 hp, and a 6100-lb. max tow rating. They also come with a 5.0-liter V8 that has a max tow rating of 10,000 lbs., a 5.4 V8 with 380 hp and the option to upgrade to a mind-boggling 440 hp; and the 6.2-liter V8 has a 411 hp with a max tow rating of 11,300 lbs. Last but not least, the F-150′s smallest powertrain, encompasses a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 365 hp, and max tow rating of 11,300. With advancements like these, it’s no secret why the new F-150 is the cause for 40 percent of all F-150 retail sales.
Other F-150 enhancements include a two-speed automatic 4X4 system to improve handling in inclement weather. This feature makes off-roading feel like a ride on the highway! Although the only F-150 models with this option are the Lariat, King Ranch, Harley-Davidson and Platinum, this feature helped elevate the F-150 to the status of top winter truck.

As for the future of Ford’s F150, skies the limit! They not only beefed up this line’s horsepower, they redesigned it with smoother contours and sleeker aerodynamics. For all the reasons I discussed, there should be no surprise why Ford trucks are far ahead of their competition. And as for which competitor is in second place behind Ford, the runner-up would probably be insulted to be mentioned. Through their latest trucks Ford made a statement that they will continue to get you to your destinations, by making it known that the F-150 isn’t going anywhere soon!

Detroit, MI – As Ford unveiled its completely re-designed Lincoln MKZ Concept car at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, Jim Farley, Ford Vice President of Global Marketing announced, “the reinvention is underway”. Not just a new vehicle, the Lincoln MKZ Concept represents a new brand for Lincoln. The automaker has a strong case for basing Lincoln’s updates on what Ford President and CEO Alan Mullally called “the new DNA” of the concept MKZ.

The all-new Lincoln MKZ Concept was designed to support the luxury customer base in the U.S., rather than compromising with a car that would have global appeal. The Lincoln MKZ Concept bears little resemblance to prior MKZ model years, its unique styling beginning with a distinctive split wing grill that tips seamlessly into a headlamp shape unlike anything Lincoln has released to date. That difference continues to the concept’s rear styling, with full width LED taillamps. The Lincoln MKZ Concept also sports a glass panoramic roof, fully illuminating the interior.

The interihttp://www.driveclassicford.com/wp-admin/post-new.php#edit_timestampor is reminiscent of the luxury Lincoln represented in prior years, with a champagne color scheme across rich and detailed stitching front to back. The MKZ concept boasts two LCD screens, one outsize eight-inch screen embedded in the center console and a second displaying driver gauges that Ford describes as “intuitive”. Since Mulally indicated that the Lincoln MKZ Concept is the reference point for the seven new or extensively updated vehicles Lincoln plans to release over the next few years, this is a great start for the re-invention.

As for specs, since the Lincoln MKZ Concept is after all only a concept, there were not many details released. Officials did report that once the re-designed MKZ becomes available it will strongly resemble the concept. It’s anticipated that the new MKZ will have a hybrid option as in prior MKZ model years, but it’s unlikely that much else will remain the same. Not only is the styling reminiscent of Detroit’s golden years, but the Lincoln MKZ Concept sports a push button transmission, which hasn’t been seen since the 60′s. It’s safe to say that if it is even available on the final model, push button transmission is likely to be an option. And when will it be available? No release date has been announced, but further details are expected for the 2012 New York International Auto Show in April.

Ford Focus 2012 is truly a world-class car – it’s the first U.S. Focus to pick up the powerful design and performance cues from its acclaimed European counterpart, and you’ll notice the difference even before you get behind the wheel.

The exterior delivers a sleek, ready-to-pounce posture – a dynamic statement that’s backed by the high-strength boron steel that wraps the structure, and the three-step paint process that you can upgrade with premium metallic clearcoat for the ultimate shine.

Of course, it’s what’s under the hood that delivers the real performance. The Ford Focus 2012 line sports a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder double overhead cam engine that unleashes 160 horses, kept in line by a sophisticated four-wheel suspension system. The turbocharged EcoBoost engine could drive the horsepower to 200. A 6-speed automatic transmission is geared toward intuitive and seamless gear changes – saving fuel in the process.

Safety features in the Ford Focus 2012 start from the ground up, with 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, stability control and traction control standard.

· Also standard are front, rear and side-mounted airbags to supplement the three-point safety harnesses.

· The available MyKey system helps young drivers stay safe by limiting the top speed from the engine and the highest volume in the entertainment system.

· Even windshield wipers have gotten an upgrade; the available rain-sensing models detect rain and snowfall, and activate automatically.

Step up to the Focus ST for a little more “growl” to your ride. The 2.0-liter Ti-VCT I4 high-output engine is complemented by an available sport suspension and high-performance brakes to take command of the open road.

For all its performance, Ford Focus 2012 hasn’t forgotten the available fun stuff.

· MyFord Touch technology works like your smartphone. Just a touch controls navigation, phone and entertainment systems.

· Push-button start frees you from your car keys.

· Voice-activated SYNC technology delivers incoming calls with ease, so you can keep your eyes on the road. Even the Sirius XM radio is controlled by your voice.

· And with the Parking Technology Package, you’ll never dread parallel parking again. It senses and maneuvers the car automatically into the space in as little as 24 seconds.

Ford Focus 2012 has earned its stripes. Cars.com reviewer Joe Wiesenfelder says it best: “With better styling than the Chevrolet Cruze and better handling than the Hyundai Elantra,” Ford Focus 2012 “is the most complete package in the compact-car market.”

The current Ford Fusion is already capable of taking on the Camry and Accord, but the fact is that the Honda and Toyota mid-size offerings sell better at the dealership. Ford was quick to point out at its press conference that Camry and Accord sales were down 31 percent and 28 percent, respectively, since 2007, with increased competition being a major culprit for the decline. The Fusion has taken a different route, with 2011 serving as the sedan’s best year of sales ever. Ford is hoping to add a whole lot more pressure to the Japanese stalwarts with the addition of the 2013 Fusion.

The Fusion looks like a mix of a Euro Ford Mondeo (back) and a Aston Martin (front), but the overall design is a fresh take on the mid-size sedan. Ford will offer the Fusion in three flavors: the standard model, the 47-mpg Fusion and the plug-in hybrid Fusion Energi. The standard model itself comes in several trims and boasts three engine choices.

The base Fusion is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder mill, with 170 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. The fuel efficient offering boasts a 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine with 179 horsepower and 172 lb-ft, plus fuel economy numbers of 26 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. The highest performance Fusion will pack a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 237 hp and 250 lb-ft.

Ford will continue to offer optional all-wheel drive, and MyFord Touch version 2.0 will show up on the option sheet as well. (Source: Autoblog)

Taking a major cue from the fashion industry, the 2012 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 relies heavily on snakeskin trim inside and out — perhaps in a bid to get more women into the macho truck. The new Harley-Davidson F-150 goes on sale in early November.

Ford told Inside Line on Tuesday that pricing on the high-end truck will be set next week and should be comparable to the outgoing 2011 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150, which starts at $49,500, including a $995 destination charge.

The 2012 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 gets new snakeskin leather interior trim and new body-side graphics in a snakeskin pattern.

When Inside Line asked Ford what kind of snake it used on the interior trim, spokesman Richard Truett said, “It’s not real snakeskin. We’ve duplicated the texture and feel of snakeskin. We did not kill any snakes to make the truck.”

Manicures and pedicures using real reptilian skin and priced up to $300 are popular in New York, according to media reports. Retailer Ann Taylor is also featuring snakeskin-look items in its current collection — with one snakeskin-look dress getting big play in the current In Style magazine. Luxury retailer Chanel is featuring snakeskin bags this season.

Ford said in a statement that the snakeskin trim on the exterior of the Harley-Davidson truck is “inspired by tank inserts on premium-level Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

“This is the first time we’ve captured the full spectrum of light to dark on the exterior,” said Mike Massara, F-150 program manager in a statement. “The graphic flows and accents the design curve of the truck, yet brings the texture of the snakeskin into the vehicle, which is something that’s very difficult to do.”

The cabin of the truck gets high-gloss Tuxedo Black paint while the console lid and upper steering wheel get the snakeskin leather. The seats also feature the snakeskin leather.

New for 2012 are 22-inch machined-aluminum wheels with painted accents and a new premium exterior color — White Platinum Tri-Coat.

The 2012 Harley-Davidson F-150 is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 that churns out 411 horsepower. Standard features include a power moonroof, rearview camera, second-row heated seats, ambient lighting, a remote start system, 110-volt power inverter and power-adjustable performance pedals.

The Bonneville Salt Flats are a place where records are constantly made and broken. Vehicles of all shapes and sizes are driven, towed or pushed out to the brilliantly white sodium chloride desert where drivers embark on a quest for high speeds. You can expect to see production cars, motorcycles, purpose-built streamliners and vehicles that look ready to leave the flat plain and attack the sky. One vehicle you would not expect to pull away from the start line, however, is a Ford F-250 Super Duty.

Brent Hajek sees the world a little differently.

The Hajek Motorsports team prepped a 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty for high-speed blasts under the Bonneville sun. The truck is a nearly stock diesel-engined model equipped with the new turbocharged 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8. Hajek Motorsports swapped out the fuel injectors, fuel pump and turbo to get more go-juice into the engine at a greater rate. Inside, a roll cage and five-point harness were added for safety while moonbeam wheel caps attempt to streamline the high-speed brick. Other than the moderate upgrades and sponsor stickers, the Hajek F-250 is a run-of-the-mill production vehicle that can run on standard diesel or B20 biodiesel. There’s no exact number with regards to the upgraded performance figures, but Hajek Motorsports states that it’s pushed horsepower and torque up by 50 percent over the stock engine’s 400 horsepower and 800 pound-feet of grunt.

What sort of speed does that translate to on the salt flats? A new B Production Diesel Truck record of 171.123 miles per hour, which bests the previous record 166.850 mph held by a Duramax-powered GMC pickup. The Hajek team also filled the truck up with B20 biodiesel and set out to beat the previous record of 130.614 mph. They smashed that one, with a speed of 182 miles per hour. That’s a pretty terrifying good clip for the large pickup. Kudos are in order for Brent Hajek and his team.
